Organic aphid control – citrus homemade insecticidal spray

It’s true that aphids are quite small and so difficult to get rid of. However, this citrus homemade insecticidal spray kills the aphids and even deters the ants which colonize the aphids for their honeydew.

CAUTION: Before I begin explaining, I would caution you to…

First, try this spray on one or two leaves or one small out-of-sight area of the shrub before spraying the whole tree to make sure your tree/shrub will not be ruined by the citrus which is in the spray.

Secondly, please do the spraying early in the morning or after the heat when the sun goes down. You don’t want to burn your leaves, do you?

Why This Citrus Homemade Insecticidal Spray Kills Aphids

When the citrus oil extract in this citrus homemade insecticidal spray comes in contact with the body of the aphid, the aphid goes into convulsions and is quickly neutralized. This homemade spray will have the same effect on any soft-bodied insects, and will even keep ants away for a while, but they may come back. However, since this mixture has such a refreshing smell, you’ll probably enjoy using it often.

To create this citrus homemade insecticidal spray, you need the following items:

1 pint of water, grated rind from 1 lemon, a cheesecloth, and a pump spray bottle.

1. You first bring the water to a boil. Then remove the water from the heat and add the grated lemon rind.

2. When you have finished adding the grated lemon rind to the boiled water, allow the mixture to steep overnight.

3. Twenty-four hours later, strain the citrus homemade insecticidal spray through cheesecloth so that you have only liquid

4. Finally pour this clear strained mixture into the pump spray bottle. This recipe will yield about one pint of citrus oil extract.

5. Now you’re ready to try your citrus homemade insecticidal spray on your plant. To do so, apply the citrus homemade insecticidal spray mixture to plant leaves that are under attack by aphids or other soft-bodied insects. Be sure to spray the underside of the leaf too. The mixture must come in contact with the insects’ bodies to be effective.

CAUTION! CAUTION! However, to make sure you can spray the particular plant that has the aphids problem, please re-read the CAUTION paragraph above AND FOLLOW THROUGH WITH THE SUGGESTION GIVEN.

This natural citrus homemade insecticidal spray which kills aphids is extremely easy to make, and as long as it comes in contact with the aphid’s body, you can get immediate results — with the added bonus of getting rid of the ants for a while too.  So be alert and take action immediately.
